Brisilda Bufi is an albanian photographer who lives and works between Vienna, Graz, and Tirana.
Her work investigates identity, belonging, cultural hybridity, and social and ecological transformations. It explores memory, displacement, and the tension between the visible and the invisible. Operating at the intersection of documentation and abstraction, she uses sequencing and intuitive visual storytelling across still lifes, portraits, and abstract fragments to create narratives that reflect both collective and personal experiences.
Bufi studied Information Design at FH JOANNEUM Graz (2024), Fine Art Photography & Multimedia Art at Ortweinschule Graz (2018), and Classical Piano at the University of Arts Tirana (2014). Her solo exhibitions include Galerie im Pfarrzentrum Wies (2025), Kunsthalle Graz (2024), the Austrian Cultural Forum Zagreb (2021–2024), and the Smallest Gallery (2021). She has participated in group exhibitions across Austria, Romania, Montenegro, and Croatia, and her work has been published in FOTOHOF > CALLING.MAGAZIN (2024), Francisco Carolinum (2022), and der Greif (2022). In 2024, she received the State Scholarship for Emerging Artists from the Austrian Ministry of Culture.
